Love

LOVE

Love, like a tree,
sends its roots down deep
so when the storms of life abound
and the winds of adversity blow,
it shakes and bends
and goes with the flow
but doesn't break or fall.

And during times of drought
it drives its roots down deeper
so whatever comes and goes—
summer, winter, spring, or fall,
the good times and the bad—
it stands the test of all.

another MLM which claims the same Financial Freedom eBiz.com... HAHAHA

I saw this comment posted in my first blog entry about Questnet... I thought it is worth posting here... Previously Questnet with Gold coins, this time with eBiz.com software application.. lol

Similarities : the same slogan Financial Freedom... blah..blah.. and both are targeted IT people.

I really did not research much on this because I'm too busy now a days... but anyway as a former member created a web-site against eBiz.com with all the details and claims he made... Thought it may help at least some people...

Comment:
"All people who lack maturity, understanding of economics, and want to earn quick buck join MLM. They try to brain wash others by relating the scam with many examples which are deliberately linked to make a point. And finally, the world is full of people who can be brain washed easily, thats why world has suicide bombers who kill themselves for things they don't understand. Another MLM scam in happening, this time the company is eBiz.com Pvt. Ltd. No ... they are not related in any way with the www.ebiz.com domain at all. This is just to misguide. Their actual website is http://www.ebizel.com

A former member of the company has this wonderfull website describing the entire thing http://antiebizel.googlepages.com"

From his site,

eBIZ company was founded by a guy called Pawan Malhan. He owns a dual citizenship of India as well as Canada. Frequently travels back and forth from Canada to India.

He comes to attend the eBIZ Conventions in Amritsar but never shows up at eBIZ Seminars.

He claims to have served as a Director of BITS PILANI with no solid support to his theory. He has also faked about his relationship with Association of India Universities (AIU) to the extent of saying that he was the Head of it for more than 10 yrs.

eBizzers worship him as a GOD, and he himself has declared to be the gift of GOD to Human kind. He is planning to jump into politics and has already established deep links into the system.

I can just laugh about the people who are falling into such schemes... HAHAHAHA

If you are affected by any MLM scheme feel free to share your experience in the comments field... That will save millions of poor people's life...

Challenge to Gold Quest/Questnet Members(especially ShreeDevi)....

Hi Questnet members I'm back to the debate with full proof, i thought of stopping the argument with my previous post... Thanks to Shreedevi for making me to research more on this topic...in turns helped us to understand more on the business model of Questnet.

It is really hard to believe that the IT guys who knows binary tree concept very well(supposed to be..LOL) falling on to this business model... IT guys, why can't you think before you join into any type of MLM schemes?

After an interesting research we found that Questnet tree will end very soon...We never expected this anyway. But that is the fact. Sorry for the losers(I'm very sorry to say that 80% of the Questnet members will be in leaf node anyway). Another sad thing we found that Per capita income of the country also decreases...

Based on India's population we can able to prove that the tree will end very soon...(Thanks to Praveen Kumar helped me a lot on this calculation). Taking India into account we can prove it logically or mathematically anyway you like...

Can any of the Questnet members prove that the tree will never end???

Note: This is not only applicable for Questnet. This is also applicable for any binary level MLM schemes.

Mere Thought of Money Makes People Selfish..

I have found an interesting article from LiveScience, i think i have no need to say why i have chosen to blog this article right after Questnet stuff ;).
Just the mere thought of money can turn a person selfish, so that he helps others less often and prefers to play alone, a new study shows.

In a series of nine experiments, researchers found that money enhanced people's motivation to achieve their own goals and degraded their behavior toward others. The concept of money, they suggest, makes a person feel more self-sufficient and thus more apt to stand alone.

The scientists said the study had nothing to do with making a person feel wealthy. When real or fake money, or even a photo of cash, was placed in sight of participants, they became selfish.

The results could explain why the topic of money can be so detrimental to a couple’s lasting bond.

“In our experiments, the people who are reminded of money really worked hard toward their own goals. But that might not be conducive to a good interpersonal relationship,” said study leader Kathleen Vohs of the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota.

Staged scenes

The scientists split 50 undergraduate students into two groups. One was primed with the concept of money; other served as a control and was not primed. A few methods were used to get the participants thinking about money: In some experiments, a stack of play Monopoly money was within a subject’s peripheral view, or a subject would unscramble word phrases dealing with money, while in others a participant would sit in front of a computer screensaver showing pictures of floating money [image].

The subjects were unaware the money was even a part of the experiments as they filled out unrelated questionnaires.

Then scientists gave the subjects a challenging problem to solve with the experimenter letting them know he was available for help if needed. Sure enough, the money subjects persisted much longer before asking for help.

In one test, a participant sat in a lab filling out a questionnaire when a supposed student walked into the room and said, "Can you come over here and help me?" She explained that she was an undergraduate student and needed help coding data sheets, each of which would take five minutes. Some of the participants didn’t help at all, Vohs said. The control group volunteered an average of 42.5 minutes of their time, whereas the money group gave about 25 minutes.

Another experiment gave participants the opportunity to lend a helping hand in a situation requiring no skills. In a staged accident, a random person walked through a room where a participant sat filling out a questionnaire, and spilled a bunch of pencils. The money participants picked up far fewer pencils than the controls.

Stand alone

To understand how money affects interpersonal relationships, the scientists told each participant they would have a conversation to acquaint themselves with another participant. While the experimenter went to retrieve the other subject, the participant was to set up two chairs for the engagement. The subjects in the money group put more physical distance between themselves and new acquaintances compared with control subjects.

When choosing between two activities—such as an in-home catered dinner versus four personal cooking lessons—the money-primed subjects chose individually focused activities more often. And when given the option of working with another participant or working alone on an advertising project, fewer money subjects chose teamwork.

The results, detailed in Nov. 17 issue of the journal Science, showed no differences in terms of socioeconomic status or gender.

Money message

A take-home message, Vohs explained, is that “cooperation really goes down the drain when money is an issue.”

For business managers, this could translate into keeping the idea of money in the background.

“In a lot of businesses, we train our MBA’s to work in teams," Vohs said. "If the team has a sales goal, then to the extent that money is really a big topic to that team, you’re likely to see that cooperation is going to be reduced.”

And for couples who want to work as a team, she said, taking money out of the equation can only help.

Google blogsearch gives no.1 result for Questnet...

Here we go again... Google Blogsearch , gives the no.1 result for my blog http://jayaraj-m.blogspot.com , Check out the screen capture of the result... :)

Are we still early to have losers?

Hi guys.. these are my final words on Questnet...

I have made a lot of friends and opposer on this issue... I know i am not an expert to take decisions on this type of business.. The reason why i mention this is there are so many people contacted me via e-mail, orkut, blog comments..etc., to know the reality of the business model... But i can only give my views on it...

I understood one thing from the debate, Questnet's slogan... must be changed like,
"Be selfish, you can be rich soon".

I have given my analysis as a person who thinks about the business before joining into MLM schemes and how can it possibly affect India's future... You can see the details in my previous blog entries Link1, Link2

Hope my analysis help at least few people in India as well as in other countries...

Thank you for all of your comments especially the supporters of Questnet.. without them i would have not done a detailed analysis... and given you the results. Special thanks to my supporters who carried me a long way and appreciated my efforts.

I have done my best in this topic apart from my work... I loved this research to find out new things... and learned a lot about MLM...

"Are we still early to have losers??? "

Maybe...Think yourself and take your own decision.

Soon you will find more of my research details will be published here... of course apart from my work.. For avoiding legal issues i have added a "Disclaimer" in my sidebar...

Ah.. another interesting scenario how Questnet can affect India..?

Here we go guys.. another interesting article i found from my fellow blogger with how many people possibly affected by Questnet over the period of time...,

The company goes by the name of QuestNet Ltd. and the subsidary that sells the "Antique" coin is called Gold Quest international and operates out of Honk Kong.

Very convincing arguments were presented to lure people into buying these coins, mainly citing "Poor Salary" paid to software engineers and the number of people who had already bought houses, cars etc.. etc.. within a hundred days of joining.

This entire business can be simplified in an alternative way: "I will let you steal from me and will help you steal two others. You share profits with me." The steal here is exponential and the profit sharing, Linear. It is obvious who benefits.

Tried to convince a few infoscions at the "presentation", that it is mathematically provable that a majority of those in the MLM tree would end up as losers. Their strategy is to form a binary tree and distribute money whenever 3 people join both your left and right nodes.

Assume that everybody in the world joins your MLM tree. Let the tree miraculously happen to be balanced - the "overall" best case scenario for you and the worst case scenario for the fraudsters:

The simplest way to rubbish this scheme is that HALF of the tree is in the leaf nodes and those Leaf nodes would not make any money because
they can't have three people in their left and right nodes. Same argument holds for the penultimate level of the tree. So a minimum 75% of those who join this scheme are doomed to lose money in the best possible scenario.

Other Interesting Stats:

Assuming an "average" binary tree with a very conservative skew factor of "2" and 100 million people (rough estimate of how many people in India can theoretically afford it) joining the tree. It turns out that 98.46 million of those would end up as complete losers and Indian Economy would be bereft of 25000 crores.

Considering the face value of the "Antique" coin - 7k and the price at which it is sold - 33k, the guy (a gal in this case) at the top of the tree can swindle a minimum of 10 crores in conning just 4300 people. And This number has already been crossed.

That said, you can *still* make a loot and get away with it if you find enough Fools to join your tree. And that, I suppose is not a big problem.

P.S: Impertinent/Verbose mail was to convince at least one soul who might be led astray by the fallacious scheme. Apologies to those who find it irritating.

Questnet Business model - uncensored....

Here we go... guys.. I believe this article should clear all of your doubts... One thing you need to understand that 85% of the people are not gaining anything(if you say correctly 85% losers) in this tree structure.... If you are in other 15% of the tree yes you are really very lucky...

One of the comment from a guy says..."Are we early to the losers..??".. well said...

Here we go for the full article... my comments added with that article in red...

Many thanks to Praveen Kumar who helped me in this calculation... :)

QuestNet/GoldQuest: The good and the bad

March 8, 2006

I’ve never belonged to QuestNet, GoldQuest, or any similar organization, and I have no financial stake in their success or failure. However, at least 6 people have approached me about these companies during my last two weeks in Ethiopia, including close friends, so I’ve done some reading about the advantages and disadvantages of joining. Here are my conclusions.

A. The good

1. Some participants will make money.

The nature of these companies is that older members are rewarded by profits from sales to newer members. If you work hard, sell skillfully, and are one of the early joiners in your region, you may indeed make a profit.

2. You can learn salesmanship – a useful business skill.

The company will provide you with extensive materials teaching you how to persuade others to join. Indeed, the whole existence of these companies is based on their expertise in persuasion, and as many of you have seen, their representatives can indeed be very convincing. Of course the techniques of persuasion can be very useful in business and many other areas of life, so even if you lose money at least you may develop a useful skill.

3. You, and Ethiopia, will gain a deeper understanding of the expression “There’s no such thing as a free lunch.”

This may sound like I’m mocking Ethiopians, but I’m not. Systems like these come to every country. The first time they come, they bankrupt large numbers of people. Afterwards people tend to be more careful. So maybe this experience will act like an inoculation, protecting against worse episodes in the future. Of course I hope not too many people will be hurt by the inoculation.

B. The bad

1. The great majority of participants will lose money.

Unfortunately, if you work hard, sell skillfully, but are late to join, it’s practically impossible to make enough sales to make a profit.

In my analysis I have the advantage of a computer science education which taught me about trees. One interesting property of binary trees is that the number of nodes with two children is always less than half the total number of nodes. Examples:

We take the structure from above model, i'm taking 6 levels(level 0 - level 5) for explaining how money flows happens in this model... (Taking an example saying each person invests Rs.30,000 each.)

Level 0 1

Level 1 2

Level 2 4

Level 3 8

Level 4 16

Level 5 32

----------------------

6 levels 63

----------------------

If you see the calculation 7 out of 63 people gets the cheques for Rs.11,500 cheque. That means only 1/5 of the people are getting cheques(not the profits)

level 0, one person gets the cheque for Rs.46,000(4 * 11,500)

In level 1, two persons get the cheques for Rs 22,000(2*11,500) each. so it is Rs.46,000.

In level 2, four persons get the first cheque of Rs. 11,500. each so it is also Rs.46,000.

So here we go for the calculation,

Totally 63 people invested Rs. 30,000 each. 63*30000 = Rs.18,90,000

So 3 levels are getting the money as i mentioned earlier3*46000 = Rs.1,38,000

So only Rs.1.38 Lakhs of money distributed to very few fellows and rest of the money Rs.17,52,000 of the money donated to Questnet, that means in a 6 level tree Questnet can able to block 17.52 Lakhs with them..If you take the coin cost into account.. for example coin costs around 5 Lakhs then 12.52 Lakhs of money donated to Questnet...

So conclusion is.. If you are a questnet IR, You are not doing the marketing job, you are trying to collect the money from all the people and donates to the Questnet....>

At anytime in this tree.. the higher level in the tree can earn the money, but that money comes from other people always.... in the tree only 15% of the people always in winner side....so they make more money.. but that money comes from other 85% of the losers. That means.. 15% of the people trying to steal 85% of the people's money...

Note: Here i have taken an endless tree... If anytime tree breaks i'm sure there are more than 90% of the people will feel the heat ...(losers)

So decide yourself whether you want to join in this scheme.

So, no matter how many people join, more than half of them will lose money. In practice, in these organizations it’s not enough to have only two other people beneath you – to make a profit you need more. So the number of people profiting is actually far fewer than half.

Anyway you don’t need to study computer science to see that most participants lose money. You can just read about the many other countries where these systems have already bankrupted large numbers of people: Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bhutan, the Philippines, etc. See the links below.

2. These systems are a massive net loss for Ethiopia.

It’s clear from the way the money is awarded that, the higher you are in the tree, the more money you make. So a large proportion of the profits flows to those who started these organizations, who are in other countries. The net loss for Ethiopia is obvious from the most conspicuous international transactions at the moment, which involve people bringing worthless “e‑cards” into the country and in exchange taking out bundles of cash.

3. Time spent on these systems distracts people from productive work.

Of course people are free to spend their personal time and money as they choose. However, from a broader point of view, a society suffers when smart, hardworking citizens leave school or quit their jobs to devote themselves to unproductive work.

You may ask: why is work for these companies not “productive work”?

This is a fair and subtle question. Here’s how I see it. “Productive work” is effort which satisfies someone else’s pre-existing desire or need. A street sweeper leaves the street cleaner for those who walk it. A taxi driver helps people get where they want to go. A computer programmer causes a computer system to behave as a user requires. Even a prostitute can very easily defend her work as satisfying a desire.

But the only benefit produced by these companies, aside from the indirect benefit of sales training, is that a minority of their members make profits – and these profits simply come straight from the pockets of the majority, who lose out. No other service is provided. They’re just a complicated way of shoveling money from one person’s pocket into another, with the biggest recipients sitting in other countries.

4. These systems encourage you to think of friends and relatives as potential sales targets, rather than as people you respect and love.

This is what I most dislike about these companies.

If you haven’t already, you will probably soon encounter the phenomenon of the friend/relative who suddenly can’t shut up about how great this company is and how dumb you are for not joining. Now, it’s a feature of capitalist society that we are surrounded by unpleasant people working hard to convince us to buy things we don’t want. But it’s very sad when the person pushing you used to be your friend.

To me, the greatest tragedy in other countries hit by these systems – greater even than the bankruptcies and the suicides – has been the large numbers of former friends who end up bitterly divided when one or both go broke. As one Sri Lankan man said (just before the pyramid there did indeed collapse): “How will I face my colleagues and friends whom I persuaded to invest in the firm if this scheme collapses, as I hear it has in other countries?”

C. Some responses I’ve received so far, and my replies

1. “These companies are productive: by cutting out middlemen between manufacturers and buyers, they sell goods more efficiently.”

It’s true that cutting out middlemen can result in a more efficient business model. For example, Dell in the US is famous for selling high-quality computers directly to consumers. This allows them to charge lower prices than many competitors, because the competitors sell through stores which charge an extra commission.

However, there are two big problems with applying this argument to QuestNet etc.

First, these companies are full of middlemen! Every time you sell one of their products, a large part of the price is going to people above you in the pyramid. A person between the buyer and the manufacturer, who takes a portion of the sale price, is by definition a middleman.

Second, the easiest way to judge whether a distribution mechanism is efficient is to look at the bottom line: the price. Dell succeeded not because people admired its clever business model, but because they liked the low prices it charged for good products. Any time a company tells you it has a new way to sell something, just take the item they’re selling to Merkato, see how much people will pay for it there, and then compare to the price the company is charging.

2. “Aside from whether you approve of them, do you know if these companies are legal?”

I’ve read that they’ve been made illegal in some other countries, including Nepal and Bhutan (see links below). I’ve heard different claims about Ethiopia. The thing is, I don’t care too much. Even in the world’s most responsible countries there will be things which are legal but not right, or illegal but right. Governments will never be in a position to make all our decisions for us.

3. Ethiopia doesn’t have to lose. We can actually benefit, by recruiting new members from other countries.”

In principle this is true, but in practice it’s extremely unlikely that enough new members will be found elsewhere to balance the losses here. You will find people in most other countries more skeptical about these schemes. Every other country I’ve read of that has been entered by them has suffered a large loss.

Anyway, the issue goes beyond patriotism. In any pyramid scheme, the majority are losers and a handful of con men win big. If Ethiopia somehow manages to turn a profit at the expense of a bunch of suckers in, say, Bangladesh, my sympathy will be with the Bangladeshis.

4. “Not all network marketing/multi-level marketing companies are scams.”

This is true. For example, in the US, Tupperware has historically used a somewhat similar scheme to sell its products. (See the Wikipedia articles on “Multi-level marketing” and “Pyramid scheme”, linked below.)

The difference, once again, is price. Tupperware containers are popular for their own merits and are bought by non-members who consider them a good deal. These non-member customers are why Tupperware has existed for decades without collapsing.

However, as far as I know none of the companies using these techniques in Ethiopia operate like Tupperware. Instead, they sell products pretty much entirely to their own members. No non-member would consider paying the prices they charge. What they’re really selling is membership, and when they run out of people who want to buy that, those who joined last will find that what they bought was worthless.

D. Conclusions

As you can see, the issue is hotly debated, and the results could be serious both for many individuals and for the country. In the end, at least until the government strongly intervenes, each person will have to make his or her own decision. So here are my three recommendations to everyone concerned:

  • Don’t just believe anything anyone tells you, including me! Think for yourself. As I’ve said elsewhere, at this point in history there is no excuse for being uninformed if you have access to the Internet. And anyone considering paying a 6000-birr membership fee should be willing to first invest 20 or 30 birr in research at an Internet cafe.

  • Whatever you conclude, be sincere. Discuss pros and cons openly with others, so you can all be better informed. If you ever find yourself deceiving a friend just to make some money, something has gone very wrong.

  • Only risk money you can afford to lose! And whatever you do, don’t borrow money to join!! Even if you think it’s the greatest idea in history, it should be obvious to you that some sensible people think it’s risky. Hundreds of people in other countries have committed suicide when pyramid schemes they had invested everything in collapsed (see the Wikipedia links above). Don’t risk putting yourself in that position. Let’s make sure that, if things don’t work out, we’ll be able to laugh about it later on.

Shreedevi...and other Questnet members Could you please answer these questions?

Supporters of Questnet, Can you please answer the following questions???

1) What do you mean by "Business"??

2) Why do we need referral marketing(as you say) for Questnet?

3) Is it OK if you would like to eat others money, If you accept this it is waste of time arguing with you people.. if not tell me where is your money coming from?(you may call it as earning more money, same i call suck money from others)

4) Are you OK with blocking money in one place called Questnet..??

From the calculation of the Questnet business... we found more than 80% of the money goes to the Questnet... that means simply we can say... all Questnet members are very actively collecting min. of Rs.30,000 from others and donating it to Questnet...

If this is the case i can sponsor of FIFA or Champions trophy..or anything...

Here 80% of the money transfers from all the IRs to Questnet.. only 20% of the money comes from Questnet to IRs.. so where is the money-flow?.. as a tree grows the money 80% will increase more and 20% decreases... as per the binary tree law...

I'm really very busy in my office work...If you need the calculation details probably i will publish it in my next entry...

Look at the following screen shot of the web-page,

Note down the marked part.. which clearly shows that QuestNet and Gold Quest run by the same company... If Gold quest banned in India, Sri-Lanka, Albenia...as i mentioned in the previous article... Why can't ban the same company now...

I can not understand why the IT people(supposed to have good analysis knowledge) fall into such schemes...

Why do you guys want to earn money from nothing? I want to tell you guys you are trying to make False Profits... Before going into any type of MLM based business think whether you are in right one?

I don't know how many of you aware of FTC(Federal Trade Commission), which is used to monitor all type of marketing in US and make sure that is legal, if not they file a case against them and give them the punishment...

FTC Article, talks about how MLM or Pyramid Schemes affects the banks and consumers,

"...Pyramid schemes not only injure consumers. In many cases, they affect the daily operations of banks and taint the banking industry's overall reputation for safety and soundness. Many pyramid promoters disparage the bank industry and promote their own program as a superior alternative to traditional banking and investment..."
MLM schemes not only affects consumers added to that it also affects the Bank sector of the nation.. so any type of MLM scheme affects the country's growth. I can give you so many other examples.

Feel free to contact me through comments for any assistance on this topic. Join with me to fight against QuestNet in my Orkut community... Feel free to forward my posts which will help the people to rescue at least some people...

Conclusion: DO NOT JOIN IN ANY MLM or PYRAMID SCHEMES.

//Update:The Qi group has 66 companies(not only Questnet) under its fold operating in diverse fields like travel and leisure, telecom, finance, jewellery, tea, media, entertainments etc.

Whether QuestNet/Gold Quest is legal???

Recently one of my classmate asked me to join in QuestNet Ltd., (http://www.quest.net/), So
I just googled about this company, after a bit of changed keywords i found the marketing strategy of this company is really worse and illegal. Let me help you guys understand what is it all about?

We can call this marketing strategy as MLM(Multi-Level-Marketing) or Pyramid Scheme.

These are all my findings over the net:

GoldQuest/ QuestNet operate under the name "QuestNet LTD" co. ref no. "993949-P".

Gold quest is proved to be using alleged money circulation market in India,

From The Hindu article ,(published on 2003)
CHENNAI AUG. 21. With the arrest of Goldquest officials in Chennai, where the company's India headquarters is located, police claimed to have exposed yet another alleged money circulation racket. Over 50 members have filed complaints stating that the company owed around Rs 12 lakhs to them.
But these guys have changed their name to QuestNet, ltd., and doing the same business... I hope this business will be shut down soon before it gets all the people inside this alleged market.

Another article says Gold Quest banned in Sri-Lanka,
GoldQuest, the controversial network marketing scheme, is now illegal in Sri Lanka after its scam drained US$ 15 million in foreign exchange from the country, the Central Bank said Friday.

From the another article Albania under the Shadow of the Pyramids,
Albania's fate seems tied to pyramids. Ismail Kadare, the famous Albanian contemporary writer and several-time nominee for the Nobel Prize, wrote a book called Piramida (The Pyramid). The story unfolds in ancient Egypt, where the pharaohs, much like their communist dictator-successors, use a totalitarian mechanism of myth creation. In Albania, after the death of the communist despot, Enver Hoxha, a pyramid-shaped building was built and dedicated to his memory. The people called it "the pyramid." But Albanians also learned about pyramids of the Ponzi-scheme variety (see box), as depositing money with the hope of reaping record interest rates became a national sport.
If you read the article we can understand one country's fate can be changed to worse than previous through Pyramid schemes like QuestNet...

Currently Questnet targets well known IT employees as targets, Before think of the money please think 1000 times before invest in any of the MLM schemes. If at all the say it is not MLM but in reality it is... There is no exception for that...

BTW, while convincing people from questnet may say that Finance Minister's wife is Legal advisor for this shitty business as i can say.. These people also claim that Questnet is not like Amway..or something Like that...

You can see an article about Amway,

The largest MLM company, Amway/Quixtar, and hundreds of others, such as Nuskin, Herbalife, Melaleuca and Nikken, operate it in such a way that 99.9% of all people who invest will never earn a net profit.
If you want to know more about QuestNet scam you can read it here at MouthShut,

I'm sure instead of making good friends Questnet guys gonna lose their friends too... I'm writing this because it is clearly understood that this company is full of Scam...

Conclusion: QuestNet is another MLM scam which is propagating like Chikungunya in India. My advice is please do not join in such schemes. 99.99% of the people lost their money in any MLM scheme. Please be aware of it...

School-On-Wheels ???

Are you wondering how can be a school on wheels.. yes it is... Everybody knows how many Child labors are in India... Many of us(in India) knows so many people child labors exists, and they work for more than 10 hours a day. After a long-days work they rarely think about their studies...

But here is a non-profit organization DoorestepSchool which conducts classes inside buses.. which is concerned about Homeless people... I have to say.. this is a great idea to give education to Homeless people.. It is working well on Mumbai now. I hope it should come in all the places in India where Child labors are high in India(Like Bangalore, since I'm living here for more than 2 years...as of i know in almost all the restaurants and most of the other places)

From their site,

The School-on-Wheels project is the flagship of Doorstep's attempts to take education to Out-of-School children who dwell on the very fringes of society. This project was initiated with 2 major objectives in mind:

1. Provide a means to impart basic literacy skills to the less settled groups of children viz. those who live on pavements, station platforms or street corners and often seen begging. These groups are very mobile and usually there is no facility to run classes in the areas where they dwell. A bus provides the most suitable alternative for such a classroom.

2. Provide a School Bus Service for primary school children from slums. Some parents are motivated enough to enroll their children in school but are unable to drop the young ones to school regularly resulting in high school drop-off rates.

Do you want to help this organization?
There is one way they say they can help.. we can sponsor for a teacher in School-on-Wheels ... For more details.. Click here

The Serenity Prayer

The Serenity Prayer

God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.

Living one day at a time;
Enjoying one moment at a time;
Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace;
Taking, as He did, this sinful world
as it is, not as I would have it;
Trusting that He will make all things right
if I surrender to His Will;
That I may be reasonably happy in this life
and supremely happy with Him
Forever in the next.
Amen.

--Reinhold Niebuhr

Trust in the LORD with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways acknowledge him,
and he will direct your paths.

Proverbs 3, 5-6

There is a lot behind this prayer. In the earliest of my career i realized that .. when r u gonna realize it...? I'll never forget 02 Aug '06, bcoz the day i realized the full meaning of this prayer...

Would "YouOS" be a threat to GooOS?

Before going onto the topic let me explain what is all about? Everyone might have heard of Google is building up Google OS which the author calls it as GooOS, which is believed to be a web-based Operating System.

Check out the Screenshot of the OS,

Is it realy possible to create a such an OS ???
Yup. It is possible. YouOS proved in its recent alpha release of OS, Itz long way to reach but it is proved Web-based OS is very much possible.

You may post me a question what is it? From the author's web-site,

what is YouOS?

YouOS is a web operating system that lets you run diverse
applications within a web browser. Small applications like sticky notes or
clocks. Large applications like word processing, mp3 players, and instant
messaging. Even better, it's very easy to tweak an existing application or write
your own.

Would "YouOS" be a threat to GooOS?
It seems to be... GooOS is in news for atleast 2 years by now. It seems to be a slow progress in GooOS, could be very much efficient any other OS. But YouOS proved it is very much possible to build so many option and get a very good OS, Currently we can't get all the OS features but atleast we may get basic features...

Google may acquire the company in order to increase the speed of GooOS..too.. Google may call it as GooUOS. Lets wait and see the progress how it evoloves....

My advice: YouOS not yet met all the requirements for an OS. but still i'm appreciating the effort and the threat given to GooOS through this alpha release... Hats off to WebShaka, Inc.

Stay tuned for the updates on web-based OS...

Whether next terrrorist attack is going to be on Bangalore????

Possibly...Recently because of Mumbai-Terrorist attack around 200 people dead, the next attack seems to be IT HUB or Silicon valley of India Bangalore is under threat...

Effect of Mumbai-attack affected Internet also in blocking famous blog sites like blogspot, typepad also blocked in IN.. for more details you can check out my previous blog on this topic what are the other blogs blocked by Indian Govt.

Be careful bangaloreans.. If you find any unknown objects in Bus or Train.. or any public places.. Plz inform to Police immediately... Bcoz Recent news from The Hindu (India's No.1 Daily Newspaper) reports,

"...Police sources here said today that the conductor of the Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation bus had found an object under the last seat of the bus around midnight and suspecting it to be a bomb, alerted the beat police at the city's main bus stand.

Police, who had arrived at the spot with sniffer dogs, recovered the object and confirmed that it was a crude bomb containing gelatin..."

Why bangalore is on Target now??
From Wiki

"Bangalore's HAL Airport (IATA code: BLR) is India's fourth busiest[32] and functions as both a domestic and international airport

Hindustan Aeronautics Limited owns and operates Bangalore's HAL Airport, and also uses it to test and develop fighter aircraft for the Indian Air Force.

One more reason could be ..because Bangalore is often referred to as the Silicon Valley of India because it has become an investment friendly city which offers access to huge technical and experienced human resources..."

I believe these are the main reasons why the terrorists are trying to attack Bangalore. What else could be the reason behind attacking Bangalore? Give ur comments...

Update 1: IndiaTimes reported the following,

"...A letter written by National Security Advisor MK Narayanan to all state chief ministers has hinted at the possible infiltration of the Indian Air Force by Lashkar-e-Toiba cadre..."
So it is confirmed Lashkar-e-Thiba is on track and giving security threat against India...

From Wiki,
ashkar-e-Toiba (Urdu: لشكرِ طيبه laÅ¡kar-Ä• ṯaiyyiba, literally The Army of Pure , also transliterated as Lashkar-i-Tayyaba, Lashkar-e-Tayyaba or Lashkar-i-Toiba) is a Islamic terrorist group that uses military strategies to achieve its aims.
Only God can help us...

Full List of URLs blocked by Indian Govt.

Hi guys,

After a long struggle i found out the list of URLs blocked by Indian Govt. Here it goes,

1. www.hinduunity.org
2. http://myperjawa.mu.nu
3. http://pajamaeditors.blogspot.com
4. http://exposingtheleft.blogspot.com

15. http://imageasearch.yahoo.com (Not sure abt this one)
16. http://www.imamali8.com
17. http://www.rahulyadav.com

Why all these sites are blocked?
From my observation of most of the web-sites contains religious related information.

Whether govt. instructed to block blog sites?

No. Absolutely not. If u look at it carefully Indin govt. had not instructed to block Blogspot or Typepad or any whole blog sites. They have instructed to block only 4 blogs. I guess ISP providers gone crazy enough to block whole Blogspot and Typepad, that is a ridiculous move by these guys.

There is a report from financialexpress says "...Over 25% of India’s 38 million internet users are active bloggers...". I've to blame ISP providers for this one. In order to block 4 blogs these guys had blocked the close to 10 million blogs. What crazy it is?

As a blogger i feel this is violating Internet Privacy rules.

More than that to block one typepad, they have blocked the whole typepad... ROTFL. Keep visiting this site. More updates to come.

/Update: Unconfirmed report tells me http://www.Clickatall.com also blocked in India. i can't find any reason for this site to be blocked either.

/Update on 21/07/2006 : Ban lifted after a big protest from all the bloggers in India. Maybe soon all ISPs will remove the blacklist.
